Engaged Researcher & Amazigh Artisan
About
I am an Amazigh woman from the Rif mountains of Morocco, one of the birthplaces of the Indigenous people of North Africa.
On papers, I am French-Moroccan. But above all, I am a nomad. A free mind on a journey to liberate myself from all forms of colonialisms. I endeavour to bridge the gap between my scholarly pursuits and personal growth, striving to express my authentic self in all contexts.
I am currently an Affiliate Researcher at the University of Oulu, Finland, and the ICAR Laboratory in Lyon, France. I received my PhD summa cum laude from the University of Lyon, France, in 2016.
Through an interdisciplinary approach drawing on decolonial visual ethnography, multimodal interaction analysis, and critical phenomenology, my research aims to shed light on the complex and renewed intersubjective practices of embodied and (digitally) artifacted interactions in mundane, artistic, and workplace settings. My research focuses on the technobodily ethnomethods used by participants of diverse identities to collaboratively share their experiences, build common knowledge, and enact a sense of community and belonging. I apprehend human interactions as aesthesiologic co-experiences comprising three fundamental dimensions: technobodily, scenographic, and socioaffective.
My work currently centers on the lived experience of high-skilled racialized migrants in Finland. I investigate how ethical and creative digital technologies and practices can empower them to shape their own identities, experiences, and trajectories.
My academic contributions include co-authoring a book, guest-editing journal issues, and authoring book chapters, journal papers, as well as a book postface. Regularly engaging in international conferences, I actively participate in various research groups and scientific associations. Additionally, I often contribute to reviewing and editing tasks. Furthermore, I hold teaching experiences in various courses at all university levels and I have organized funded PhD schools and scientific workshops aimed at both junior and senior researchers.
